Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a gentle, specialised hands-on therapy that addresses restrictions within the fascia—the connective tissue system that surrounds, supports and interconnects every muscle, bone, nerve, blood vessel and organ throughout the body. Following injury, inflammation, repetitive strain or compensatory movement patterns, the fascia can lose its natural elasticity, creating tension that may restrict movement, alter biomechanics and contribute to pain.

Treatment involves applying sustained pressure into areas of fascial restriction, allowing the tissue and nervous system time to respond naturally. Rather than forcing movement or stretching tissue, this technique works with the body’s inherent ability to unwind and self-correct, encouraging lasting changes within the fascial system.

By restoring the natural glide and mobility of the fascia, Myofascial Release can improve freedom of movement, optimise joint function, reduce compensatory tension, regulate the nervous system and support more efficient movement patterns.

Massage

Equine Massage Therapy is a specialised hands-on treatment that uses a range of manual techniques to improve the health and function of muscles, fascia and other soft tissues. By reducing muscular tension, enhancing circulation, supporting lymphatic drainage and encouraging relaxation, massage can improve flexibility, movement quality and overall comfort while promoting healthy tissue function. It is beneficial for horses of all ages and disciplines, whether they are high-performance athletes, recovering from injury, managing age-related stiffness, or simply receiving routine maintenance to help prevent future issues. Treatments are individually tailored and may incorporate techniques such as effleurage, petrissage, compression, direct pressure and myofascial release, with each approach carefully selected to address your horse’s unique presentation, movement patterns and treatment goals. As part of a comprehensive treatment plan, equine massage therapy can help optimise performance, support recovery, improve mobility, encourage more efficient movement patterns, reduce compensatory muscle tension, and contribute to your horse’s long-term health, comfort and overall wellbeing.
